![]() Problem was the eggplant breading wasn’t fried very crispy but the eggplant on the inside was still a little crispy. You find a lot of eggplant and seafood dishes in New Orleans. Very good gumbo, full of small shrimp, oysters and either seasoning ham or tasso. If the gumbo had been any damn hotter the ceramic cup it was served in would have melted or exploded! And I was starving! Letting it cool was hell. If you, like me, hate getting your gumbo or soup cold or luke warm, that wasn’t a problem here. The restaurant is in walking distance of the French Quarter, Harrah’s Casino, The Aquarium, Bourbon St., and all kinds of other attractions I’m probably not thinking about now. The rear entrance to the restaurant is on Fulton St. There’s a Café du Monde in there where you can get beignets. and the Riverwalk Outlet Mall is right across the street, which you really should check out if you come to New Orleans. The front of the hotel faces Convention Center Blvd. This restaurant is located on the first floor of the Omni Hotel right on the Mississippi river.
